Some views of Marrakesh

Marrakesh is a fascinating city! We stayed at the edge of the city in an area called "Les Palmeraies", which is so-called because an invading army camp of the 17th C. is said to have left date pits scattered everywhere resulting in a large, dense grove of palm trees. The drive into town was as exciting as walking through the medina, dodging smaller but equally erratic traffic. Though of course the sensory assault is a little more varied while walking in the medina.

A rainy day at the orange stand

A market street just inside the city walls. Scooters, mopeds, bicycles, donkeys and carts zoom through in a constant fog of smoke and exhaust.

The suburbs with the high Atlas in the background

Goods transport

The sea of satellite dishes

Aaaaaah! that was close!

An arrangement of windows

The school in the market

Everything's for sale

Overstimulation

Focus on overstimulation
