Jerez de la Frontera

One of our first outings from Arcos was to Jerez, about 20km away. Jerez is the birthplace of Sherry (which is an anglicized pronunciation) and has many old and fine bodegas or wineries to visit. Because of this age-old wine business the town is relatively wealthy. Horses and horse-training are the other major attraction and export of the area. Lots of people in jodhpurs and boots with crops!

The garden area of a horse training school.

Lots of storks dancing and snapping and flapping at one another.

...and flying.

Everywhere!

Even on the Sandeman's Bodega.

Bodega, storks and horses.

Watching, waiting...

Fancy horses

Lunging

Pulling carts

Yeehaa!

Pigeon sitting among pigeon-deterrents.
